Dance Shoes Discussions| I did a bad thing! | | I was supposed to be done with my shopping. I'm not exactly satisfied, but I really can't afford to do much else, and everyone in my family should be very pleased with their gifts, including my husband.Well today I had to go to Payless to get my daughter a new pair of dance shoes, as her old ones have a hole in the toe. Well Payless has a buy one, get one half off sale. So I was thinking... I just got my oldest son a new pair of sneakers he'll be recieving at Christmas, all my other kids are good for shoes. I was browsing around and then I saw a nice pair of boots my husband could really use. Since he's starting a new position on Monday that will require him actually being outdoors making house calls, and right now all he has are business shoes. I probably shouldn't have, because the boots were $40, but I bought them. I got the ballet shoes for $8 because they ended up being the half off since they were cheaper. Not too bad I guess, but my husband isn't even done shopping for me, and I only left him about $70 to do it this week, and who knows how much he'll have next week since I have to buy our Christmas dinner along with our regular... | |
| | Using blow pens | | These are marker pens that have hole in the lids and you blow through and the color comes out like a spray. My daughter over the summer went to the library where they decorated bags using these pens. The librarian in charge gave my daughter an extra 2 bags to take home and her pens for my son..(This librarian is really nice)..[em]thumbup[/em]Anyways, we were told to do is after decorating and allowing it to dry, we can wash it and then put it into a very hot dryer, setting the color..I did mine and fortunately I was the only one to wash it. because it didn't set, it smeared....
The enxt time I saw this librarian, I told her how mine messed up and I was glad I didn't wash my kids, and this librarian, bless her heart, gave me more bags and pens and do another one..[em]happy[/em]I also did one of my bags and have the outline to do the other one..But the downfall of making these?? | | dance class now has crazy rules also | | my daughter will be starting her second year of dance class today. the teacher has put in all new flooring and she is expecting the 3-4 year old kids to stay on a little plexy glass square and and dance on that so they don't ruin the floor. if they don't stay on their square and if the touch the floor at all they have to go sit outside with their parents. this is reduculous. it's a dance studio. if the kids can't dance on the dance floor cause it's new she shouldn't of replaced the floor. i pay for my kid to dance and not to sit with me outside. anyway instead of paying for the entire year i decided to pay month to month this year and i will be pulling her out if the teacher gives her a hard time. | |

There a thousands of young adults that can sing and dance. They wait in line, in the rain, in the heat and in the hope they will get picked to be on either of Fox's top rated talent shows Fox Broadcasting Company: So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol: Official FOX Site . They want to be the next Carrie Underwood, or Benji Schwimmer. Their friends and family encourage them to try out, some of them are real good and others ... well then there are others. In the never ending race of ratings, the producers of these shows focus more on the bad than the good in the first weeks. It is not really kind or funny, but they think it is. The good ones stand out and you remember what city they started out in as they carry out the accepting letter to go Hollywood and be in the finials.
So in the interest of time, I skip to the last weeks of the finals, when it gets down to 12 contestants in each show. I root and rave about my favorite. I wanted to be a Broadway dancer, so dancing makes me smile. As far as a singer, that was never encouraged by my family, so I would never have to be profiled on the bad entries. She was nervous when she started preschool a few years ago. At the end of preschool she cried and told me she didn't want to go to kindergarten because it would be a whole new school, she wanted to stay in preschool forever! (she's starting 2nd grade this year) Before she started dance lessons she was nervous about that.
